HauntLog · Android application

Privacy Policy

Effective August 3, 2026 · Published by J.R. Ratliff

In brief: HauntLog works offline, requires no account, and does not send investigation records or evidence to the publisher or a HauntLog server.

Information HauntLog handles

HauntLog allows users to enter investigation locations, dates, team-member names, research, field notes, equipment records, review findings, and related information. Users may also capture or import photographs, audio recordings, videos, PDFs, and other evidence files.

Local storage and data collection

HauntLog stores its database and imported evidence locally in private storage on the user’s Android device. HauntLog does not require an account and does not transmit investigation records or evidence to the publisher or to a HauntLog server.

HauntLog does not include advertising, analytics, behavioral tracking, third-party cloud synchronization, or a publisher-operated collection service. The publisher does not collect, sell, or share personal information through the application.

Microphone, camera, and files

HauntLog requests microphone access only when the user chooses to record audio evidence. Photograph and video capture is performed through the device’s camera application. File access occurs only when the user selects a file, chooses a backup or report destination, or initiates sharing through Android.

Sharing and exports

HauntLog can create PDF reports and portable backup archives. The user chooses where those files are saved and whether they are shared. Information sent through another application or storage provider is governed by that provider’s privacy practices.

Data retention and deletion

Records remain on the device until the user edits or deletes them, clears HauntLog’s application storage, restores a backup that replaces the current database, or uninstalls the application. Deleting a HauntLog record may also delete evidence copies managed in HauntLog’s private storage. It does not delete the user’s original source file outside HauntLog.

Children

HauntLog is designed as a field-record and research tool for adult paranormal investigation groups. It is not directed to children.

Security and backups

HauntLog uses Android private application storage. Users are responsible for protecting access to their devices and for storing exported reports and backup archives securely. No storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if HauntLog’s features or legal obligations change. The effective date above will be revised when changes are made.
